In a study administered by Queaar.com we found the following statistics about QR Codes in 2011:
QR Code scanning increased by 4549%
The age demographic scanning the most are 35-44 years old

2011 QR Code Trends

A major trend in 2011 that positively influenced QR Code marketing success was the increase in smart phone sales. Smart phones are pivotal to the success of QR Code marketing because the smart phone is the tool which allows scanners to decode a QR Code.

Between March and May of 2011, Nielsen Research Group found, of all phone sales, 55% were smart phones (in the previous year during the same time period only 34% of phone sales were smart phones).
